We are looking for a motivated Space System Engineer to join our team working on advanced Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) payloads for space applications.
This role is ideal for early-career engineers (Master’s degree up to ~5 years of experience) who want to grow in the space sector while contributing to the development of cutting-edge Earth Observation systems. You will work at the interface between payload and platform, gaining exposure to the full lifecycle of complex space missions.
You will have the opportunity to work on real space missions in a dynamic and collaborative environment, where your technical contribution has direct impact.
You will gradually be involved in:
• Supporting system architecture definition and trade-offs for spaceborne SAR payloads, with typical system engineering activities such as budgets (mass, power, data), performance analysis, design justification, requirements definition and traceability.
• Managing and coordinating payload-to-platform interfaces (mechanical, electrical, thermal, data…) with spacecraft providers.
• Interfacing with multidisciplinary teams (RF, digital, mechanical, thermal, AIV, etc.) to ensure system consistency.
• Contributing to verification and validation activities, including test campaigns and data analysis.
• Preparing and maintaining technical documentation in accordance with project and customer standards.
• Master’s degree in Aerospace/Space Engineering or a related scientific/engineering field
• 0–5 years of experience in space systems or other complex system development
• Knowledge of system engineering principles, including requirements management and system architecture
• Familiarity with the following domains: RF systems fundamentals, digital electronics, platform subsystems and interfaces
• Understanding of the full design lifecycle (from concept and design to verification and in-orbit operations)
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and interface with different stakeholders
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Fluency in English (written and spoken)
• Availability for occasional travel (e.g., meetings, integration and test campaigns)
• Experience or academic exposure to SAR space payload development or satellite systems engineering
• Familiarity with interface management, system budgets and subsystem interactions
• Knowledge of ECSS standards or similar space industry standards
• Exposure to AIV/AIT activities
