Mechanical and Thermal Space Engineer

  • Reports to: Technical project manager
  • Job purpose: Mechanical and Thermal design of space radar sensors
  • Location: MetaSensing, Via Aniene 2, 20151, Milan, Italy
  • Employment condition: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Candidate must be eligible to work in the EU.

Job duties:

  • Mechanical/Thermal design and analyses for spaceborne radar, including structural analysis
    (random, sine, quasi static, shock)
  • Mechanical/Thermal system design and integration
  • Mechanical/Thermal test design
  • Documentation of design, analyses and test

Required skills and qualifications:

Candidate must be eligible to work in the EU.

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and thermal principles
  • Strong knowledge of CAD/CAE software and analyses tool
  • Understanding of the design process (from concept through to delivery and in-service
    support)
  • Ability to think logically and to decompose a problem into its component parts
  • Good knowledge of the English language for the working environment
  • Good communication and team-working skills

Desired Skills/Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the field, ideally 5 years
  • Experience with tools like CREO, Femap, Nastran NX, Ansys Workbench, Thermica or
    equivalent
  • Knowledge about space thermo-mechanical design
  • Ability to expose clearly
  • Ability to follow a fast-paced design scenario
  • Ability to interact with manufacturers for the production phases
