  • Job purpose: The successful candidate will take responsibility for the Procurement Office dedicated to the Space sector, coordinating the entire procurement cycle and the management of third-party supply activities for aerospace programs. The role involves direct management and supervision of both the purchasing of high-reliability components and the work entrusted to external suppliers and subcontractors (EMS, precision mechanical machining, specialized treatments). This role ensures that project requirements are fully met, budgets are respected, materials are traceable, and production and delivery timelines are rigorously monitored.

  • Employment condition: Full-time, 40 hours per week.
  • Candidate must be eligible to work in the EU.

Position Description and Key Responsibilities

  • Space Procurement Management and Economics: Direct responsibility for purchasing strategies, RFQ management, comparative analysis, and economic and contractual negotiations with aerospace sector suppliers, ensuring the issuance and compliance of purchase orders.
  • Subcontracted Supply and Subcontracting Management: Selection, coordination, and operational control of supplies entrusted to subcontractors and electronic manufacturing services (EMS) providers. Continuous monitoring of the physical progress of external work to ensure compliance with delivery times and quality standards.
  • Traceability and Space Model Management: Governance of the differentiated procurement flow for the various project model levels (EM – Engineering Model, QM – Qualification Model, FM – Flight Model), ensuring the documentary and material traceability required by regulations.
  • Expediting and Risk Mitigation: Proactive management of critical issues related to Long Lead Items, market shortages, and obsolescence, implementing mitigation plans to avoid impacts on delivery schedules.
  • Vendor Management: Evaluation of national and international supplier performance, management of Approved Vendor Lists, and coordination of audit/qualification activities in collaboration with Quality Assurance.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Direct interface with Engineering, Project/Program Management, Production, and Quality Assurance for managing project variances, realigning requirements in the ERP system, and resolving Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs). Collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, Quality, Production, and Warehouse to ensure alignment between material availability, priorities, and activity progress.

Core Requirements (Mandatory)

  • Education: Degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Management, Electronics, Mechanical) or equivalent background.
  • Industry Experience: At least 5 years of experience in the Space or Aerospace/Defense sector in Procurement Management, Purchasing Management, or Supply Chain Management roles.

Space Technical Skills:

  • Solid experience in procuring electronic components (EEE), RF/microwave components, and precision mechanical parts for space applications.
  • In-depth knowledge of EM/QM/FM model management and traceability logic.
  • Working knowledge of ECSS standards and AS9100/EN 9100 quality regulations.
  • Subcontractor Management: Proven experience in the contractual and operational management of international suppliers, EMS assemblers, and highly specialized subcontractors.
  • Economic and Contractual Skills: High-level negotiation capabilities, management of framework agreements, and control of project procurement budgets.
  • IT Tools: Excellent knowledge of ERP systems and proficiency in data analysis tools (advanced Excel).
  • Language: Fluent English (written and spoken), essential for managing the international supply chain.

Eligibility Requirements

Candidates must be authorized to work in Italy.

Contract Type: Full-time (40 hours/week).
Salary Range Offered: €50,000–€60,000 gross per year.
