Solid Partnership, Successful Delivery: MetaSensing and AVCON in South Asia

MetaSensing is proud to announce the successful deployment of its cutting-edge airborne radar systems for a strategic client in South Asia, reinforcing a key international partnership with U.S.-based special mission aviation expert AVCON Industries.

The integration of the X-band Guardian and P-band MetaSAR radars onto a Cessna 208B was completed in March 2025. This milestone follows a successful Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) in late 2024 and marks a major step forward in MetaSensing’s global expansion and operational capabilities.

Working in close collaboration with AVCON, MetaSensing executed a seamless integration and validation campaign, from structural assessments and antenna placement to FAA-certified modifications and final flight testing. All technical and performance benchmarks were met, and the systems are now fully operational.

This achievement demonstrates MetaSensing’s ability to deliver high-performance SAR technology through strategic partnerships, meeting demanding project timelines and specifications.

To celebrate this important milestone, we’re proud to share some thoughts from key team members and partners who made this achievement possible.

Marco Radaelli, Project Leader at MetaSensing, led the technical planning and coordination of the operation. Reflecting on the significance of the project, he remarked:

“It’s a great result for the entire team. This project combined complex radar technology, tight integration requirements, and international collaboration. Seeing everything coming together successfully, on time and with full customer satisfaction, confirms the strength of our solutions and the professionalism of our approach.”

On the aviation side, we worked closely with AVCON Industries to ensure seamless integration of our airborne radar system. Christian Vila, Vice President of Business Development at AVCON Industries, shared his perspective on the collaboration:

“We were proud to assist MetaSensing in adapting the Cessna 208B platform with electrical and mechanical provisions for advanced payloads. From structural modifications to flight operations, this project exemplified technical synergy, culminating in the FAA-approved STC SA04639CH. The results speak for themselves, and we look forward to more collaborations like this in the future.”

Looking ahead, Adriano Meta, CEO and Founder of MetaSensing, highlighted the broader impact of this success:

“This successful deployment strengthens our position in international airborne SAR integration and opens the door to new challenges. We are now well positioned to undertake ambitious mapping and surveillance projects in Southeast Asia, where SAR technology can play a critical role in generating Digital Elevation Models (DEMs), penetrating dense forest environments, and providing consistent, high-resolution imaging capabilities in all weather conditions.”

Completing such a complex operation on schedule, in a demanding environment, and in excellent synergy with trusted partners like AVCON Industries, highlights the company’s ability to execute complex international projects and deliver high-performance radar solutions globally.
