• Reports to: SOFTWARE MANAGER
• Job purpose: to build computer vision pipelines for Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) object detection and classification. You will apply modern deep learning techniques to airborne, spaceborne, and simulated radar data to extract actionable intelligence.
• Location: MetaSensing, Via Aniene 2, 20151, Milan, Italy  
• Employment condition: Full-time, 40 hours per week.

Job Duties:

• Develop and optimize deep learning models for object detection and classification in SAR imagery
• Train and evaluate models on airborne, spaceborne, and simulated radar data
• Adapt models trained on simulated SAR data to real-world radar signatures
• Collaborate with radar engineers to account for SAR-specific characteristics such as speckle, shadowing, and acquisition geometry
• Work with the Radar Engineer to define dataset requirements
• Conduct error analysis and iterate on model architecture, training strategy, and data selection

Required skills and qualifications:

• Strong proficiency in Python
• Hands-on experience training deep learning models with PyTorch or TensorFlow
• Solid understanding of computer vision, in particular object detection architectures
• Experience working with large image datasets, including preparation and quality control
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in applied machine learning or computer vision

Desired Skills / Qualifications:

• Familiarity with remote sensing, radar systems, or SAR image characteristics
• Experience with domain adaptation or training on synthetic data
• Working knowledge of C++ or MATLAB for model integration, deployment, or radar signal processing
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Remote Sensing, or a related field

  

Candidate must be eligible to work in Italy. 

Employment condition: Full-time, 40 hours per week. 

Offered salary range: € 35.000 – 45.000 gross annual
